Mykhailo Fedorov appoints Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov as adviser on defense technology

The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, appointed Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov as adviser on defense technology.
According to the Minister of Defence, modern technological warfare requires a clear understanding of how innovations are evolving, the ability to anticipate russian plans, and the development of solutions capable of changing the balance of the battle.
“We are reinforcing this domain with professionals who have proven their ability to deliver results in practice. Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov is my adviser on defense technology. He is among the leading practical experts in drones, electronic warfare, and the analysis of enemy decision-making. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion,
“Flash” has worked directly at the front and provided training to service members in the most demanding locations,” Mykhailo Fedorov noted.
He added that “Flash’s” areas of expertise include radio communications, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and reconnaissance. He was the first to report on the use by russians of FPV drones equipped with machine vision, as well as the use of jet-powered Shahed drones. His current primary focus is on systemic solutions to counter russian strike and reconnaissance UAVs.
“We must reduce the effectiveness of enemy attacks and protect our people. The development of electronic warfare is critically important — in war, the side that adapts faster prevails,” the Minister of Defence emphasized.
In parallel, “Flash” will also work on other defense technology areas, including:
- Analysis and exploitation of captured enemy equipment: logistics, study of enemy solutions, and leveraging this experience to our advantage.
- Expert evaluation of new military developments: priority is given not to “paper concepts,” but to solutions that are operationally effective in combat.
“Today, warfare is defined by mathematics, technology, and the speed of decision-making. We must not merely react, but build a system that continuously learns and grows stronger. This is precisely why we are reinforcing the team with new leaders. We are moving in a systematic and rapid manner, focused on delivering results,” Mykhailo Fedorov concluded.
