In the period from March 2022 to April 2024, more than 10 samples of mortars of various calibres of Ukrainian and foreign production, including companies from the USA, Poland, Finland and other countries, were accepted, codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, since February 2022, more than a dozen models of portable, automatic and under-barrel grenade launchers of domestic and foreign production have been codified and put into service.

In particular, the Ukrainian army currently has grenade launchers made in Germany, the United States, Sweden and other countries. Among the new short-range weapons are 5 Ukrainian-made grenade launchers, the specifications of which are not inferior to those of foreign models.

In addition, more than a dozen samples of ammunition for grenade launchers, including high-explosive and fragmentation ammunition, have been approved for use.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian defence industry is increasing its own production of mortar ammunition of various types and plans to produce certain types of ammunition in cooperation with Western companies.

The codification and subsequent approval for use of domestically produced weapons and military equipment with a NATO Stock Number will allow their purchase from the state budget for units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
