Ukraine and Moldova expand cooperation to protect against modern threats

Solutions to protect against modern threats and specific defence projects were the key topics of the meeting between Minister of Defence of Ukraine Evgeniy Khmara and Minister of Defence of Moldova Anatolie Nosatîi.
The talks covered protecting the skies, Ukraine’s experience in air defence, and further direct consultations.
Practical cooperation under the Ukraine–Moldova intergovernmental Agreement
In particular, the parties discussed practical cooperation under the signed Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation.
Ukrainian interceptor drones and EW systems have already proven their effectiveness in real combat. That is why we are ready to share our experience with Moldova in countering UAVs, early warning, and exchanging information on air threats. We are also ready to help determine which assets are needed, and in what quantities, to strengthen security. We are ready to continue direct consultations.
Evgeniy Khmara added that the Agreement will be the next step toward more systematic mutual support between Ukraine and Moldova.
Ukraine’s defence industry has modern technologies and unique experience that we are ready to share with our partners. It is important for us that these solutions help protect not only Ukrainian skies but also Moldova’s airspace. Ukrainian solutions can also bring practical benefits to our neighbours by strengthening their defence capabilities and security.
Shared understanding of security threats to Ukraine and Moldova
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the security situation in the region and exchanged intelligence on threats to Ukraine and Moldova.
Evgeniy Khmara thanked Moldova for supporting Ukraine at all levels.
We share common values that Moldova is helping us defend. Thank you, Moldova, for standing united with Ukraine and for your support at all levels.
