Reforms at the Ministry of Defence are directed towards providing soldiers with everything needed for victory - the Ministry of Defence hosted a meeting of the Donor Board
Delegates from 25 countries and international organizations were present at the Ministry of Defence's hosting of the second meeting of the Working Group of the Council of Donors for Institutional Reforms. The Working Group serves as a one-stop shop for communication with donors supporting MoD’s reform.
The Ministry of Defence officials provided an update on progress in the following areas: internal management system reforms, corporate governance of state-owned enterprises and the infrastructure sector, digitalization, Drone Coalition and IT Coalition, acquisition, prevention of corruption, military medicine, and recruitment to the Defence Forces.
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stanislav Haider, who chaired the event, thanked the foreign partners for their assistance.
“All our efforts are focused, through institutional changes, towards providing soldiers with the means to defeat the enemy. “I must point out that the Donor Board is one of the most effective mechanisms and serves as a key method for validating the Ministry of Defence's needs that our partners can fulfill. We welcome our partners to participate in our positive transformations,” said Stanislav Haider.
Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization, briefed on digital transformation progress, especially in cooperation with the IT Coalition and the Drone Coalition member countries.
“Several vital initiatives have been launched through the close cooperation between the Ukrainian MoD team and the Donor Board. These initiatives aim to ease the load on the military, streamline processes in the Defense Sector, and facilitate the development of technological innovations for a strategic advantage on the battlefield. We are particularly grateful to our partners in the IT Coalition and the Drone Coalition, created within the framework of the Ramstein format, for their ongoing support in mobilizing international resources for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a daily basis.
The Working Group of the Council of Donors for Institutional Reforms was established in May 2024. It holds meetings once every quarter. Specialized gatherings are organized to discuss topics of interest to partners.
