MoD expands training and certification opportunities for operators of ground robotic systems

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has expanded the mandate of UAV pilot training schools to include the training and certification of ground robotic system operators and instructors. 

Pursuant to an order of Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal, they have been granted the authority to design training, retraining, and qualification-enhancement programs for operators and instructors of ground robotic systems.

This training will be available to both service members and civilians. 

If a candidate is not yet a service member, a military unit may issue a training voucher, and after completing a certified course, the candidate can mobilize into this specialty.

The new measure will enable rapid adaptation of training programs for operators and instructors in line with technological changes and the introduction of new ground robotic systems. 

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will oversee the quality of training, and the Ministry of Defence will ensure that all training programs meet the standards of the Defence Forces.
