The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Swedish delegation discussed military assistance for 2025, including the scope of weapons and military equipment to be provided and funding mechanisms
The meeting in Kyiv involved discussions between Sergiy Boyev, the Deputy Minister of Defence for European Integration, and Brigadier General Johan Axelsson, Director of the Testing and Evaluation Systems Department at Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for the military assistance Sweden has already provided.
“The weapons and military equipment delivered by Sweden have performed excellently on the battlefield,” Sergiy Boyev noted.
The discussions also included Ukraine's request for Northern European countries to provide Ukrainian Armed Forces units with armored vehicles, artillery systems, and other weapons.
The Ukrainian and Swedish delegations discussed the types of weapons Sweden could supply to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including what could be provided free of charge, what would require purchase, and the conditions attached to these provisions.
