Ministry of Defence of Ukraine digitizes military equipment supply
The Ministry of Defence has completed the rollout of the Digital Logistics Management System (DLMS) for military equipment within the Logistics Forces Command and at storage facilities.
From procurement to delivery to military units, the entire military equipment supply chain now runs through a digital system. This includes armored medical evacuation vehicles, armored vans such as the Kozak and Novator, trucks, pickups, off-road vehicles, passenger cars, buggies, ATVs, motorcycles, and other vehicles.
The system provides real-time visibility into procured equipment, arrivals, and items shipped and received at storage facilities. Previously, document transfers and issue confirmations could take several days. Now, documents are available instantly, and equipment movements are tracked online, shortening supply timelines for military units.
Key improvements:
- instant document transfer;
- real-time tracking of contract deliveries;
- online monitoring of equipment shipments to military units;
- automated procurement, allocation, and reporting;
- reduced logistics delays;
- faster decision-making.
Next, the system will be rolled out to military units conducting combat missions.
About the system
The system is based on SAP, a data-driven software solution for defense resource management used by over 90% of NATO member states’ armies. It provides real-time visibility into available resources, tracks their movement, enables supply planning, and supports decision-making based on up-to-date data.
