Ministry of Defence launches Brave1 Dataroom, a secure environment for training military AI solutions

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Scientific Research Institute of Military Intelligence, and the U.S. technology company Palantir, is launching Brave1 Dataroom, a secure environment for testing and training artificial intelligence models for military applications.
Implemented as part of the Brave1 defense innovation cluster, the project aims to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous AI solutions to meet the Ukrainian military's needs.
“Artificial intelligence is emerging as a decisive factor on today’s battlefield. We thank Palantir for its technological partnership in launching Brave1 Dataroom, which will facilitate the development of new AI-driven game-changers. The initial focus will be on autonomous detection and interception of aerial threats—a capability of critical importance to Ukraine,” Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov stated.
At the initial stage, Brave1 Dataroom focuses on developing autonomous technologies to detect and intercept enemy drones. Interceptor drones are already demonstrating high effectiveness on the battlefield; however, in response to mass enemy UAV attacks, autonomy becomes critically important—the capability of systems to independently detect, identify, and destroy aerial targets.
Built on software solutions from the U.S. technology company Palantir, Brave1 Dataroom already includes structured visual and thermal datasets of aerial targets, including enemy Shahed-type UAVs. The datasets are formed on the basis of real-world materials collected by service members and will be gradually expanded.
The platform enables Ukrainian defense companies to train, test, and validate their own AI models—from the detection and classification of aerial targets to autonomous interception algorithms—in a secure environment using relevant combat data.
Access to Brave1 Dataroom will be granted to Ukrainian defense developers upon completion of a mandatory security compliance procedure. This ensures the protection of sensitive data and compliance with defense-sector requirements.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine invites Ukrainian innovative companies from the defense sector to participate in the Brave1 Dataroom and submit applications for access to the platform.
