Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksandr Balanutsa and Dr. Greg Mills, Research Director of Brenthurst Foundation, a South African think tank, discussed enhancing collaboration in information security and military education.

The parties engaged in discussions about relevant issues concerning bilateral cooperation and international aid for Ukraine amidst russia's large-scale military aggression. Special attention was paid to information security and countering russian propaganda.

Ways to expand cooperation in military training and exchanging experience were also discussed. In particular, the prospects for the organization of educational visits and of joint training programs were discussed.

Oleksandr Balanutsa thanked the Foundation's representatives for their efforts in covering the situation in Ukraine.

“We highly appreciate the efforts of the Brenthurst Foundation to inform the international community about the real situation in Ukraine and to counter russian aggression. Your activities help shape an unbiased view of the situation and strengthen international support for Ukraine,” the Deputy Minister noted.

The parties also discussed prospects for further collaboration in security and defense. The Brenthurst Foundation representatives expressed their firm belief in the necessity of Ukraine's victory, emphasizing that the potential success of russian aggression could have far-reaching consequences for the world order. It was highlighted by the delegation the significance of uniting international endeavors to back Ukraine in its fight for territorial integrity and independence.

At the meeting's close, Oleksandr Balanutsa, on behalf of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, presented Dr. Greg Mills with a departmental award for his significant contribution to the development of cooperation and comprehensive assistance in defense.
