Ministry of Defence and private arms manufacturers join forces on quality assurance

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine continues working to align the country with NATO standards and integrate into the Western quality assurance system. As part of this effort, the Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry have agreed on joint steps in the area of quality assurance for military goods.

The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry is an industry platform that brings together leading manufacturers of weapons and military equipment. The organisation serves as a bridge between the private sector, governmental bodies, and international partners.

Within the framework of this cooperation, private manufacturers are consolidating efforts to implement a national quality assurance system at their enterprises, compatible with NATO standards.

"Establishing cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry expands the scope of the state quality assurance system. Together, we are building a system in which the private sector becomes a reliable partner of the state in ensuring the quality of defence-related products in line with the highest international standards," said Colonel Yevhen Krasnykov, Head of the State Quality Assurance Department.

An important area of further cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the private sector will be the implementation of quality management systems at private enterprises in accordance with military standards identical to NATO AQAP series standards. This will contribute to the timely and high-quality fulfilment of defence procurement orders.

The Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry will also cooperate in addressing quality assurance challenges, which will help implement modern approaches in this field.
