Long-term defense projects: Deputy Minister Sergiy Boyev meets with the Special Envoy of the President of France
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration, Sergiy Boyev, discussed plans for industrial cooperation in the defense sector with Pierre Heilbronn, Special Envoy of the President of France for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction.
In particular, Sergiy Boyev discussed with the French delegation Ukraine's priority strategic defense industry projects for 2025 and their financing options.
“To fully utilize their potential, Ukrainian manufacturers need extra financial support. We produce shells, artillery systems, and long-range drones. However, air defense remains an essential requirement, and we are prepared to discuss options for joint production of surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems and related interceptors,” said Deputy Minister Sergiy Boyev.
France is a leader in the production of air and missile defense systems. It is important that Ukraine and France deepen their cooperation in this area.
“This is important not only for strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian Defence Forces now but also for ensuring long-term defense capability and sustained production,” added Sergiy Boyev.
