Life-saving robots and unmanned systems: Modern demining equipment showcased at the UTTC training ground

Захід «Майбутнє розмінування: Україна в дії» пройшов на базі навчально-випробувального комплексу UTTC (Ukrainian Training and Testing Complex)

Leading manufacturers demonstrated the operation of advanced ground-based robotic systems for clearing explosive ordnance under field conditions. The event, titled ‘The Future of Demining: Ukraine in Action,’ was held at the Ukrainian Training and Testing Complex (UTTC).

The demonstration featured the Zmiy robotic ground clearance system, the 5100 GART remotely operated humanitarian demining system, the Lehenda mechanized clearance platform, the Multi-purpose unmanned ground vehicle, the UDM VORMELA tracked demining vehicle, the DOK-ING MV-4 and DOK-ING MV-10 mobile robotic platforms, the GERMINA URCM-3000 demining system, the MEMATT-MR1 mechanical demining system, the GSC-200, and other specialized equipment.

“Equipment and tools for humanitarian demining were demonstrated under conditions close to real-world scenarios. During the demonstration, while small and large mechanized demining systems navigated designated routes, simulated detonations, dummy explosive devices, and other simulated typical threats in contaminated areas were used,” said Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and the United Nations Development Programme. It brought together all stakeholders shaping Ukraine’s mine action sector, from engineers and manufacturers to technology users, government representatives, and international partners.

The Ukrainian Training and Testing Complex (UTTC), which aims to develop cutting-edge technologies in mine action, civil protection, and environmental safety, was inaugurated on June 6 this year at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
