Lieutenant-General Ivan Havryliuk appointed First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Lieutenant-General Ivan Havryliuk as First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine upon the recommendation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
A native of the Zhytomyr region, Ivan Havryliuk began his military career in 1988. He graduated from the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School, the National Academy and the National Defence University of Ukraine.
He rose through the ranks from platoon commander to Chief of the Main Directorate - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his military service, he gained extensive practical experience in senior positions in the military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 5 October 2023 to date, he has served as Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
