Kateryna Chernohorenko: For the first time, Ukrainian companies will be able to participate in the Drone Coalition's tenders
For the first time, Ukrainian manufacturers of drones will be able to participate in tenders organized by the Drone Coalition within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format).
Within the tender series are two lots: manufacturing advanced FPV and interceptor drones. Ukrainian businesses are given the opportunity to engage in these tenders for the first time, which is a crucial measure to enhance domestic production.
To participate in the tender, manufacturers must register on the UK Ministry of Defence's website and submit their applications. The deadline for submitting bids for FPV drones is October 14, while for interceptor drones it is November 11.
Drone Coalition members will assess all submissions and choose the winners.
The winning companies will receive orders for the production of drones for further testing and evaluation. Should the test outcomes be positive, there is an intention to place a significant FPV drone order with the winning firms.
“The Coalition's goal is to secure the industrial-scale manufacturing of FPV drones to gain a technological advantage over the enemy in the long run. Boosting production in Western countries and aiding Ukrainian companies with the capacity to manufacture such equipment are both crucial. That is why we are now welcoming domestic manufacturers to engage in tenders,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
To reiterate, the Drone Coalition was established in February 2024 during the 19th Ramstein meeting. The initiative has been proposed by Latvia and is being coordinated with the United Kingdom.
The Coalition, comprising 16 partner countries, is actively delivering drones to Ukraine. The accumulated funds of EURO 50 million will be allocated for the acquisition of another 20-30 thousand drones.
This marks the inaugural occasion for Ukrainian businesses to engage in this unique endeavor and contribute to establishing technological supremacy on the battlefield.
