Involving service members’ families in reforming the system of support for service members

People are the core value of Ukraine’s military, which is why any changes to the social support system must first and foremost serve service members and their families. This is a complex and sensitive issue—particularly for the families of service members missing in action—and that is precisely why we are approaching it with the utmost responsibility and care.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is initiating additional consultations with service members’ families, brigade representatives, and the Military Ombudsman’s Office to shape a model suited to current conditions and capable of providing high-quality support to those most in need.

Following the consultations, a coordinated model will be adopted, and the next steps will be defined. All decisions and changes will be communicated separately and in advance.

We invite everyone interested to join the discussion on changes to the social support system for missing-in-action service members and their families. Please send your suggestions to: [email protected]
