In October, the Defense Forces destroyed and disabled the largest number of Russian armored vehicles since February 2022.
In October, the occupiers suffered their highest losses in combat armored vehicles since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the month, Ukrainian defenders destroyed and disabled 923 Russian armored vehicles, costing the aggressor nation’s budget at least half a billion U.S. dollars.
In addition, the Russian army's irreversible and medical personnel losses during this period amounted to 41,980 personnel—exceeding the equivalent of more than three motorized rifle divisions.
In October, the Defense Forces also destroyed and damaged 279 enemy tanks, roughly equivalent to nine tank battalions (each battalion has 31 tanks). The approximate cost of these tanks is at least $400 million.
Russia lost 31 air defense systems, destroyed or damaged, over the month. Among the most expensive was the advanced 55Zh6M "Nebo-M" system, a multifunctional mobile radar complex capable of detecting aerodynamic and ballistic targets at medium and high altitudes. Its estimated cost is at least $100 million.
The list of "high-value targets" also included at least five of the occupier’s Buk surface-to-air missile systems, with each unit costing between $40 and $50 million, depending on the model.
Russia's artillery losses were also significant in October. The Defense Forces destroyed and disabled over 1,184 artillery systems, equivalent to approximately 65 artillery divisions, with an estimated cost exceeding $900 million. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, over 20,000 artillery units have been destroyed or disabled.
The total value of the enemy's military equipment losses in October alone is estimated to exceed $2.7 billion.
What could be purchased with such money? For example, it could buy 33,000 school buses for children in remote Russian areas. But instead, Russia has chosen to fund war and destruction.
