In March, the enemy lost the highest number of artillery systems and vehicles since the onset of the large-scale invasion

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russian army’s irretrievable and sanitary casualties in March increased compared to February, totaling 41,160 personnel (up from 36,570 in February). 

In the first quarter of 2025, the enemy lost 125,970 personnel to being killed or wounded, compared to 82,870 in the same period of 2024.

In March, the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed or disabled 272 russian tanks, bringing the total since the start of the year to 833 units. To recap, the most effective month for targeting enemy tanks was October 2023, when Ukrainian forces destroyed 521 tanks in a single month. 

Ukrainian forces struck 1,644 russian artillery systems in March, marking the highest monthly total since the onset of russia’s full-scale invasion. The peak day for artillery destruction was March 27, with 122 systems destroyed or damaged. Over the first quarter of 2025, the enemy lost 3,990 artillery systems, compared to 2,600 in the first three months of 2024. This achievement highlights the skill of Ukrainian artillery units in executing counter-battery operations and the effective deployment of unmanned systems.

Additionally, in March, our warriors destroyed 607 enemy armored fighting vehicles (AFVs), bringing the total to 1,813 russian army AFVs neutralized in the first three months of 2025. 

In the first month of spring, Ukrainian defenders struck 3,545 units of enemy automotive transport and tanker trucks. The highest daily loss of russian automotive transport occurred on March 27, with 210 vehicles destroyed, setting a record for the entire period of russia’s full-scale invasion. Over the first three months of 2025, Ukrainian forces destroyed 9,971 units of russian automotive transport, compared to 3,422 vehicles and tanker trucks in the first quarter of 2024.
