In 2025, the Demining Coalition has already raised €93 million for Ukraine
In 2025, total contributions to the accounts of the Ukraine Demining Capabilities Coalition (DMCC) have already reached €93 million. This was announced during the 14th meeting of the Working Group of the Coalition’s member states, held in Reykjavik, Iceland.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the detailed elaboration of member states’ proposals for contributions to support the equipment and training of demining units of the State Special Transport Service and the Command of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Last year, we achieved a lot together: real capabilities have been deployed on the ground; trained specialists are working in the most challenging conditions; equipment provided by partners is saving lives every day,” said Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, who led the Ukrainian delegation, during his speech at the meeting.
He also expressed his gratitude to the governments of Iceland and Lithuania, the lead nations of the DMCC, for their consistent commitment and strategic foresight in developing the infrastructure necessary for demining and the safe recovery of Ukraine.
The Ukraine Demining Capabilities Coalition was established in February 2024 within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
It comprises 23 countries. In addition to Lithuania and Iceland, the Coalition includes Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Finland, Croatia, Czechia, Sweden, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine itself.
