In 2025, Denmark will increase its financial commitment to Ukraine's defense industry

Данія розширить фінансування українського ОПК у 2025 році

The Ministers of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, and Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, held discussions on the further development of the 'Danish model' of direct financial support for Ukraine's defense industry.

Denmark has confirmed its commitment to enhance support for this initiative in 2025 and attract additional partners.

“This initiative, launched by Denmark, has already proven effective: in 2024, it provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine with €588 million worth of weaponry. We aim for even greater results,” Rustem Umerov emphasized.

Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Canada have already joined the ‘Danish model’ of financing the Ukrainian defense industry. Furthermore, in 2024, the European Union allocated part of the profits from frozen russian assets to fund Ukraine’s defense industry through this mechanism.

The production of radars, drones, and electronic warfare equipment has been identified as one of the main areas of cooperation. Additionally, the parties addressed the spare parts supply for armored vehicles, which will significantly expedite repairs and their return to operational status.
