In 2024, Ukrainian manufacturers account for 70% of the value of contracts awarded to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine

This was announced by Deputy Defence Minister Dmytro Klimenkov. He noted that this percentage might vary depending on needs and production capabilities.

In particular, weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are purchased by the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA). In this way, DPA is actively developing international cooperation as part of the policy of direct interactions with weapon manufacturers. The Agency has already signed more than 20 contracts with global manufacturers of weapons from 10 countries, mainly from Europe and the United States.

Maryna Bezrukova, the head of DPA, emphasized that the Agency only contracts weapons that the Defence Ministry has codified. “I advise manufacturers to provide their products to the military and get feedback. Equipment in great demand on the battlefield is codified and included in the list much faster,” she said.

With regard to the timing of the delivery of equipment to the combat units, the head of the DPA explained that it is a matter of supply conditions and logistics. For example, the purchase of DJI Mavic drones is quickly deployed to the front lines, while the production of new equipment is more time-consuming.

Maryna Bezrukova assured that the Agency is making every effort to reduce bureaucracy so that the necessary equipment and weapons reach the front lines on time. This helps to increase the efficiency of defense procurement and strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
