How recruits are trained under the updated Basic General Military Training program
In July of this year, the program and structure of the Basic General Military Training (BGMT) course were updated, and its duration was extended to 51 days.
Throughout this period, recruits develop practical skills that align with the demands of modern warfare. Experienced instructors place particular emphasis on practical exercises, including weapons training, tactical first aid, and counter-FPV drone techniques.
Training includes numerous marksmanship exercises, individual and group tactical actions, and land navigation. Learn more about what recruits can expect during BGMT in the infographic from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
