How businesses can become suppliers to the Armed Forces: DOT launches an educational series for Ukrainian companies
The State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT) has launched the educational series “Supporters: How Businesses Can Become Suppliers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
This is the first step-by-step guide for Ukrainian entrepreneurs, designed to make the defense procurement market more open and accessible. The series is available on the “Diia.Education” platform and will soon be launched on “Diia.Business”, helping businesses of every scale contribute to supporting the Armed Forces.
In the nine episodes, experts from the DOT, Prozorro, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Economy explain how the defense procurement system works, the requirements for suppliers, as well as how to prepare documents, register on Prozorro, and fulfill contracts.
Our goal is to create a transparent and straightforward public procurement process, ensuring that every Ukrainian entrepreneur has the opportunity to support the Armed Forces. This series represents a tangible step toward enhancing the quality of supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and bolstering Ukraine's economy,” said Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
He noted that the educational series will be a valuable tool for engaging new suppliers.
Currently, over 150 Ukrainian companies are already collaborating with DOT, supplying products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Public procurement is not just a means of supporting the Armed Forces but also an opportunity for businesses to expand and generate new jobs.
“Our goal is to be as transparent and understandable as possible for Ukrainian entrepreneurs engaged in public procurement. A business prepared to supply quality products must understand the fundamental requirements. The series offers all the essential information to take the first step or proceed more confidently along the chosen path,” explained Arsen Zhumadilov, General Director of the DOT.
The educational series was created by DOT in partnership with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, the national projects “Diia.Business” and “Diia.Education”, the Ukrainian Economic Platform “Made in Ukraine,” the Prozorro Public Electronic Procurement System, and with the support of the UK Special Adviser on Defence.
