Headquarters, medicine, and UAVs are among the most commonly chosen specialties by women joining the Defence Forces through recruitment
Since the launch of the Ukrainian Army's Recruitment Centers, 36,760 individuals have been provided with consultations regarding military service enlistment. Out of this number, 8,053 have already qualified as candidates for the Defence Forces, with 20% being women.
The Recruitment Centers of the Ukrainian Army showcase a high level of women's involvement across various regions of Ukraine. The highest proportion of female candidates for the Ukrainian Defence Forces has been recorded in the following Oblasts:
Chernivtsi – 46%
Khmelnytskyi – 42%
Ternopil – 38%
Rivne – 33%
Chernihiv – 31%
Odesa – 29%
Sumy – 27%
In the online recruitment center operating nationwide, this figure stands at 37%.

“The number of women joining the Defence Forces through Recruitment Centers reflects their active role in the country's defense. Women actively take on headquarters, medical, and combat roles, including those related to UAVs. This further confirms that the Ukrainian army ensures opportunities for everyone willing to contribute to our common victory,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

To recap, Recruitment Centers for the Ukrainian Army offer over 10,000 vacancies in various military formations, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
There are currently 48 Recruitment Centers for the Ukrainian Army nationwide. It is essential to highlight that the centers do not distribute call-up papers, and every consultation is conducted in a confidential manner.
