Government refines procedure for transferring service members between military units
Following the submission of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Government approved new decisions regarding the procedure for transferring service members between military units.
The procedure governing commanders’ response to personnel transfers has been regulated to minimize instances of ignoring or postponing decisions.
“Commanders are obliged to execute transfer orders within 30 days and, within 72 hours, take measures to initiate the handover of duties by service members,” said Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Clear grounds have been established that preclude a transfer. A dedicated working group will be established to resolve disputed cases.
In addition, the procedure for transferring between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine has been simplified. In particular, service members can now submit an electronic report for a change of duty station through the Army+ application.
“In this way, we are delivering on the Ministry’s key priorities: ensuring care for service members and improving the efficiency of the Defence Forces. The next steps are being developed to simplify and expedite transfers of service members between units,” stressed Denys Shmyhal.
