Government establishes procedure for assigning Ukrainian service members to the NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC)

Це рішення ухвалене на виконання домовленості між Україною та JATEC, яка була досягнута в липні 2025 року.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Government has established the procedure for assigning personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine to the NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

This decision was adopted as part of the implementation of the agreement between Ukraine and JATEC, which was reached in July 2025.

According to Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, JATEC serves as a platform for exchanging experiences between Ukraine and the Alliance, achieving interoperability, and developing concrete projects in defense planning, combat conduct, and technology application.

Currently, JATEC is implementing more than twenty such projects.

“Sending an additional contingent to the Joint Centre will further intensify its activities and ensure full operational capability across the entire spectrum of Ukraine–NATO cooperation,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

It should be recalled that JATEC was established following the 2024 NATO Summit in Washington and was opened earlier this year in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The purpose of the Centre is to strengthen practical cooperation between Ukraine and NATO and to enhance the exchange of experience, particularly in defense planning, conduct of military operations, and the application of battlefield technologies.
