Glib Kanievskyi: In 2024–2025, the Ministry of Defence allocated UAH 104.2 billion to Ukrainian drone manufacturers

In 2024–2025, the Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (DPA) signed contracts for the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles with 76 manufacturers.

According to Glib Kanievskyi, Director of the Procurement Policy Department at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, UAH 104.2 billion was paid to domestic drone manufacturers in 2024–2025.

Currently, the DPA is cooperating with manufacturers across various categories of unmanned aerial systems:

  • 36 manufacturers of FPV drones (maneuverable small aircraft designed for precision strikes on targets, actively deployed on the line of contact);
  • 14 manufacturers of bomber drones (capable of dropping munitions from the air on enemy targets with high accuracy);
  • 12 manufacturers of reconnaissance aircraft and flying-wing drones (designed for deep aerial reconnaissance and fire adjustment);
  • 5 manufacturers of deepstrike drones (intended for long-range strikes beyond 400 km targeting enemy rear targets);
  • 5 producers of reusable strike drones of the fixed-wing type (capable of carrying warheads and returning to base after mission);
  • 3 manufacturers of short-range kamikaze aircraft (designed for striking targets in tactical depth);
  • 1 manufacturer of aerial targets (simulating enemy drones or aircraft for training and testing air defense systems).

These contracts reflect the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to technological rearmament of the Armed Forces, improving military mobility and responsiveness, and scaling up domestic defense industry capabilities.

The Ministry of Defence expresses gratitude to Ukrainian businesses for their prompt response to frontline needs, commitment to innovation, and efforts to scale up production.
