Germany is our reliable partner: Rustem Umerov met with the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr

Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, met with General Carsten Breuer, Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany, to discuss the current security situation, military aid, and the reform of Ukraine's Defence Forces. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed Germany's strategic support for Ukraine, particularly within the framework of the Ramstein format.

“Germany is our reliable partner and friend, providing Ukraine with the largest volume of military aid among all European countries,” Rustem Umerov stated, conveying gratitude for the unwavering support and vital role Germany plays in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

The Ukrainian side briefed the German partners on the emerging threat posed by Russia's new divisions and their potential impact not only on Ukraine but also on the overall security landscape across Europe. General Breuer reiterated Germany's steadfast support for Ukraine and expressed a willingness to enhance cooperation further.

During the discussions, special attention was directed towards assessing the current level of military aid from partners and exploring the potential for further growth of Ukraine's defense industry.

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moisiuk, outlined the key reforms being implemented in the Defence Forces, including new strategies for mobilization and unit command. The Ukrainian side highlighted its interest in learning from and adapting the Bundeswehr’s experience to reinforce national defense capabilities.

At the same time, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the government and the people of Germany for their substantial contribution to supporting Ukrainian warriors and ensuring stability across Europe.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue advancing military cooperation, enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities, and collaborating towards victory and a just peace.
