Future of the Defence Forces: President and Minister of Defence address lyceum students who took the oath

Students of the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun officially took the oath.
The ceremony was held with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Evgeniy Khmara, and Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi.
These young men and women made a mature, deliberate, and courageous choice – to dedicate their lives to military service and the defense of Ukraine.
Today, young men and women from across Ukraine are taking the oath here – from Kyiv, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, Berdychiv, Lviv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and many other cities and regions. In every corner of our country, a new generation is emerging – a generation of the strong, a generation of the worthy. This gives us unwavering confidence – Ukraine will endure.
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Evgeniy Khmara stressed that moments like these are a special source of pride in the new generation.

Tomorrow, you will begin studying military science. I am confident that strong commanders will give you the knowledge you need. Your personal qualities are just as important – patriotism, integrity, professionalism, leadership, and brotherhood. After your training, you will go on to serve in the Defence Forces. And the only way to promote values is to live by them. Be worthy of the title you bear and the oath you have taken as lyceum students.
According to Evgeniy Khmara, an important task is to provide high-quality, modern training so that lyceum students can grow into strong Ukrainian officers – commanders who can set an example and lead others; who are brave, courageous, intelligent, and technologically proficient; and who can quickly master new knowledge.

Ukraine will always need a strong, effective military.
The Minister of Defence thanked the lyceum students for their patriotism and for choosing to become the future of the Defence Forces.
In addition to students of the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun, students of other military lyceums and security-oriented lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the Yaroslav Kondratiev Kyiv Lyceum, also took the oath.
