France and Ukraine coordinate funding mechanisms to support the procurement of armaments for Ukraine’s Defence Forces

During negotiations in Kyiv, France presented proposals for financing mechanisms to support the procurement of weapons and equipment aimed at meeting the needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

This was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Valerii Churkin, and a French delegation led by Jean-François Dock, the representative for Ukraine at the Directorate General of Armament of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.

Valerii Churkin expressed gratitude to the people and leadership of France for their comprehensive support of Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression. He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire. However, russia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its military capabilities and carry out offensive actions indicate the enemy’s intent to continue the war.

“Therefore, to repel the enemy, we are seeking additional funding for the procurement of modern weapons, as well as investments in their production,” said Valerii Churkin.

During the meeting, the delegations also discussed potential financing mechanisms for new projects to supply Ukraine with weapons and military equipment.
