Evgeniy Khmara: Ukraine and the United States should build a long-term, mutually beneficial defense partnership

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Evgeniy Khmara met with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. The talks focused on the situation on the front and on developing a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

Evgeniy Khmara thanked Senator Blumenthal for the support provided to Ukraine and for his significant personal efforts to achieve a just peace.
During the meeting, the two sides focused on how to build long-term, mutually beneficial relations between Ukraine and the United States.
Modern warfare is evolving very rapidly. Ukraine has unique experience in adapting to changes on the battlefield and developing solutions that are rapidly fielded for combat use. We are ready to share this expertise with our partners.
Together with Brigadier General Serhii Sobko, Acting Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Evgeniy Khmara briefed the Senator on the situation on the front and current threats.
The discussion also covered changes Ukraine is implementing to counter russian aggression more effectively.
The critical importance of U.S. support
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine emphasized that U.S. support is critical to protecting Ukrainians. According to the Minister, the United States can help end this war on Ukraine’s terms.
Evgeniy Khmara also emphasized the importance of further restricting russia’s financial capacity.
This directly affects the aggressor’s ability to sustain the war.
Evgeniy Khmara thanked Senator Blumenthal, Congress, the U.S. administration, and the American people for supporting Ukraine.
