The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is undertaking systematic efforts to enhance the quality of medical care amid war. One of the key areas of this effort is developing the management potential of medical units at all levels.

As part of this initiative, 42 heads of medical units completed intensive training to develop managerial competencies within military medicine.

As part of the curriculum, participants worked with advanced management tools, examined real-world case studies, and completed team assignments.

“Our warriors on the front lines count on receiving high-quality medical care as quickly as possible if they are wounded. To ensure this, every process supporting the delivery of such care must be optimized. That is why an understanding of modern managerial thinking is essential for all medical leaders, regardless of their level,” said Major of the Medical Service Dmytro Samofalov, Acting Head of the Health Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

Graduates of the programme received certificates of completion and are already applying the knowledge gained within their respective units.

The programme was launched at the initiative of the Charitable Foundation ‘RAZOM for Ukraine’, in partnership with the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, the Health Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and with the support of the Central Directorate for Innovation Activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
