Enemy artillery losses: 144 artillery brigades, equivalent to USD 8 billion

Enemy artillery losses

From January 1 to October 1, 2024, the Ukrainian Defence Forces effectively destroyed 10,373 artillery systems of the russian occupiers. The 'blackest day' for the aggressor's army was September 22. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 81 enemy artillery systems that day.

An artillery battalion is made up of 18 artillery units, while an artillery brigade comprises 72 artillery units. Therefore, over nine months this year, the Defence Forces have effectively destroyed the equivalent of approximately 144 enemy artillery brigades, based on the number of artillery systems.

The cost of russian military equipment destroyed this year is at least USD 8 billion. This figure is a rough estimate based on information from open channels and the global market's average costs associated with weaponry and defense equipment.

Therefore, enemy artillery systems, including self-propelled guns, howitzers, and cannons destroyed or irreparably damaged, are probably the most expensive scrap metal in the world.

The funds that russia allocates to war, seizing foreign lands, and killing Ukrainians, could have been used to solve their internal social problems. With an investment of $8 billion, the aggressor could build, for example, 13 state-of-the-art sports arenas or 18 advanced healthcare centers featuring top-notch medical and diagnostic technology.
