The State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), the Ministry of Defence’s acquisition agency, has announced the procurement of two types of wind- and moisture-proof winter jackets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for use in the next winter season.
“Procuring winter jackets now for the 2025–2026 season exemplifies advance planning and a responsible approach to equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Procuring two types of winter clothing ensures a balance between proven solutions and modern innovations,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Dmytro Klimenkov.
The total expected value of the procurement is UAH 833 million, with UAH 412.3 million allocated for the first type and UAH 420.7 million for the second type. Deliveries will take place during the first to third quarters of 2025.
Two types of such jackets are being procured for the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
• winter wind- and moisture-proof jackets, type 1 (TS A01XJ.14759-496:2023 (01).
• winter wind- and moisture-proof jackets, type 2 (TS А01XJ.14760-423:2023 (01).
Both models are designed for warmth, comfort, and protection in winter conditions, but each has its own set of differences:
Jacket, type 1:
- It is equipped with traditional insulation, ensuring reliable heat retention.
- The upper material features a foam microporous coating, providing extra protection against wind and moisture.
- A practical and time-proven model that has demonstrated its effectiveness in winter conditions.

Jacket, type 2:
- Features innovative membrane-coated materials and Omni-Heat technology to enhance thermal regulation and heat retention.
- Designed with an improved cut to enhance mobility, making it easier to wear with gear.
- Provides an additional layer of moisture protection for high humidity or wet snow conditions.

Both models conform to high-quality standards and are crafted with the specific requirements of winter military operations in mind. While the type 1 jacket remains a dependable option for most tasks, the type 2 jacket introduces advanced technological features focused on improving comfort in harsh conditions.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine continues to improve the logistics for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, relying on the experience and feedback from service members.
