Denys Shmyhal: We will fully support Danish defence companies seeking to launch projects in Ukraine

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal met with Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Memorandum, which opens new opportunities for establishing joint defence production with Ukraine in Denmark. The Memorandum was signed yesterday at the International Defence Industries Forum (DFNC) in Kyiv.

“It is significant that the forum has already resulted in new agreements. A large Danish business delegation is now visiting Ukraine. This demonstrates that the economic relations between our two countries continue to grow stronger,” emphasised Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

In addition, the delegations discussed the prospect of launching a demonstration hub in Denmark to showcase Ukrainian security solutions.

The Minister of Defence stated that the Ukrainian side stands ready to fully support Danish defence companies seeking partners to implement projects in Ukraine. He also emphasised the need to strengthen sanctions against russia in order to prevent the use of Western technologies in the production of russian drones and missiles.

“I extend my gratitude to Denmark and to Mr Morten Bødskov personally for steadfast support and meaningful contribution to our shared victory,” said Denys Shmyhal.

He also thanked Denmark for launching the ‘Danish model’ of defence industry support and for its assistance in strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.
