Denys Shmyhal: We continue efforts to increase deliveries of essential weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that over the past three months, the Ministry of Defence concluded 20 contracts under the ‘Danish model.’

The total value of these contracts with partner countries’ defense entities and manufacturing companies amounted to €1.4 billion.

“In total, €427.8 million has been disbursed to Ukrainian manufacturers within the framework of the model. A new funding tranche amounting to €825.9 million has been formalized,” stated the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence continues to cooperate with partners to increase the supply of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine through other defense initiatives and projects as well.

In particular, 17 NATO partner countries have already committed to participating in the PURL initiative for the procurement of U.S. weapons. The total value of contributions amounted to $2.8 billion.

The initial four weapons packages totaling over $2 billion comprise air and missile defense systems with associated missiles, GMLRS ammunition for HIMARS, and extended-range 155 mm artillery rounds.

Partners have also supplied over one million munitions, several dozen air and missile defense systems, and more than one thousand interceptor missiles for these systems under the framework of the Capability Coalition.
