Denys Shmyhal: We are stepping up efforts to strengthen our defense capabilities
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Deputy Defence Ministers responsible for international cooperation and logistical support.
The agenda focused on implementing the President’s directives following the Technological Command Session on June 27.
“We reviewed all points in detail. The primary focus is on providing our warriors with the necessary equipment and weaponry, as well as addressing the protection of Ukrainian cities,” stated Denys Shmyhal.
The Minister of Defence stated that Ukraine plans to expand local production and procure combat-proven interceptor drones from its partners. The outcomes of these efforts are expected in the near future, Ukraine’s Defence Minister added.
Additionally, Denys Shmyhal, together with his deputies, discussed procurement, contracting, and production financing.
“We reviewed the priorities and assigned the relevant tasks. We are intensifying efforts across all areas to bolster our defense capabilities,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
