Denys Shmyhal: We are continuing efforts to ensure the delivery of Swedish Gripen fighter aircraft systems to Ukraine

Денис Шмигаль: Продовжуємо роботу над постачанням в Україну шведських бойових літаків Gripen

While visiting Sweden, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, visited Saab headquarters, the company that manufactures Gripen aircraft.

In October, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson signed agreements paving the way for the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine.

During his visit to Sweden, Denys Shmyhal met with the companys leadership to discuss potential areas of technical cooperation and further steps towards the delivery of aircraft to Ukraine.

“Modern Gripen fighter aircraft will considerably enhance the combat capabilities of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are continuing efforts to accelerate their delivery and integration so that the Gripen aircraft may already defend Ukraine’s skies next year,” stated the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

According to him, the transfer of Swedish Gripen fighter aircraft to Ukraine will help implement the Aviation Development Roadmap in line with NATO standards.
