Denys Shmyhal: Ukraine launches serial production of the Octopus interceptors to counter Shahed drones

The combat-proven Octopus interceptor, developed within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has been put into production by the first three Ukrainian companies.
Another eleven manufacturers are undergoing technical preparations to join the serial production phase.
“Ukraine is launching serial production of its own interceptor designed to counter Shahed drones. The Octopus is a Ukrainian technology for intercepting Shahed drones, developed by the Armed Forces and validated in combat. It is capable of operating at night, under electronic jamming, and at low altitudes. Accordingly, we are launching the interceptors into serial production so they can begin protecting Ukraine’s skies as quickly as possible,” stated Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
The Ministry of Defence continues to advance its policy of open cooperation with Ukrainian manufacturers, enabling a rapid shift from the innovation phase to the serial production of combat solutions that reinforce Ukraine’s defense capability.
