Denys Shmyhal: Ukraine and Romania will maintain close cooperation to promote common security and stability in the region
Ukraine's Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, held a conversation with Romania's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu.
The parties discussed the current status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector. Denys Shmyhal thanked Romania for its role in training Ukrainian military personnel, including pilots, as well as for substantial practical support, comprising 22 tranches of military assistance delivered to Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale war.
Furthermore, the conversation addressed the advancement of collaborative manufacturing efforts. The heads of defense ministries agreed to expedite bilateral initiatives to meaningfully bolster the defense capacities of their nations, including as part of the European SAFE initiative.
“We agreed to continue close collaboration to advance our common security and regional stability, with plans to convene an in-person meeting in the near future,” stated Denys Shmyhal.
