Denys Shmyhal: Ukraine and Denmark will launch a major industrial project under the Build with Ukraine initiative
Ukrainian Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal met in Kyiv with Danish Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen and representatives of the Danish Parliament.
The primary focus of the meeting was on strengthening industrial cooperation with Denmark.
“In the near future, a major project will be launched as part of the President’s Build with Ukraine initiative. This will enable the scaling up of Ukrainian weapons production in Denmark and ensure more effective equipping of our warriors with everything they require,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
According to the Minister, this represents the next stage of cooperation between the two countries, which began with the highly effective ‘Danish model’ of support. The ‘Danish model’ made it possible for partners to invest in producing Ukrainian weapons for the Defence Forces’ needs.
The parties discussed the situation at the front and key priorities, including enhancing air defense to counter russian aggression and developing long-range weaponry to compel russia to peace.
“We expect the Build with Ukraine initiative to play a significant role in achieving these objectives. I sincerely thank Mr. Poulsen for this visit on Independence Day. I am grateful to Denmark, its government, and its people for their comprehensive support, which reinforces the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Europe,” summarized Denys Shmyhal.
