Denys Shmyhal: The Government has merged the Ministry of Strategic Industries into the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine

Today, July 21, the Ministry of Strategic Industries was merged into the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine by a Government decision.

“This decision establishes a unified framework for defense management and reinforces coordination and interaction across all its components,” emphasized Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Accordingly, the institutional functions of the Ministry of Strategic Industry will be incorporated into the organizational structure of the Ministry of Defence. Specifically, these functions encompass attracting investments to the defense industry, collaborating with partners in the defense sector, including on joint weapons manufacturing.

“We will finalize all organizational procedures in the shortest possible timeframe to enable the relevant structural divisions within the Ministry of Defence to function at full capacity,” the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence summarized.
