Denys Shmyhal: Strengthening Ukraine is a guarantee of security for the entire EU

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held an online conversation with European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis.

The parties discussed Ukraine’s strategic role within the European security architecture.  Among the topics discussed was the progress of the €150 billion SAFE initiative, which aims to boost Europe’s defence industrial output. 

“Ensuring Ukraine’s access to the European SAFE projects is crucial, and we are already engaging with EU member states and institutions to facilitate this practical integration. Strengthening Ukraine is a guarantee of security for the entire European Union,” stated Denys Shmyhal.

The Defence Minister assured that Ukraine is open to close cooperation with partners receiving the SAFE initiative's financial support and is ready to jointly develop technologies that have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield.

Denys Shmyhal conveyed his gratitude to Valdis Dombrovskis for his personal commitment and support for Ukraine. 

“We continue our effective cooperation to strengthen the defence capabilities of Ukraine and Europe,” stated the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
