Denys Shmyhal: Strengthening the integration of the defense industries of Ukraine and the EU is essential for addressing shared challenges

Діджиталізація, інновації, штучний інтелект — усе це допомагає нашим захисникам у війні

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with international partners, took part in the Defence Cooperation Forum. Future Warfare, chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

On the 34th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, Denys Shmyhal extended his gratitude to the defence ministers of Denmark, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden, along with representatives of the United Kingdom, Estonia, Czechia, the European Union, and NATO for their visit to Ukraine.

“Digitalization, innovation, and artificial intelligence are vital tools that support our defenders on the battlefield. This was among the issues we discussed with our partners during the forum. Ukraine is already integrating into the European defense industry. Ukraine will be part of the European Union and an integral part of common security strategies. It is now crucial to strengthen the integration of our defense industries to address shared challenges,” the Minister of Defence stated.

He invited partners to join the Build in Ukraine program, establish factories, service centers, and production lines in Ukraine, and develop joint projects with Ukrainian manufacturers — from co-design to licensed production.

“We stand together, and that is our strength. United by common goals and values, we will prevail and defend Ukraine and the free world,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
