Denys Shmyhal: Military units receive over 1,500 anti-Shahed drones daily
In December–January, the Ministry of Defence achieved a high average rate of interceptor drone deliveries to the Ukrainian military, with units receiving over 1,500 anti-Shahed drones daily.
This has significantly strengthened units’ capabilities to counter aerial threats at multiple levels, from the front line to the protection of rear areas.
“The DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace has become a distinct instrument for enhancing capabilities. Through the platform, military units have ordered and received over 7,000 tactical interceptor drones, allowing requirements to be addressed promptly without reliance on centralized supply,” stated Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Interceptor drones are currently a critical component of layered air defense. They enable the following:
- preserve expensive air defense missile stocks by using more cost-effective means of engagement;
- increase the density of counter-UAV coverage without overloading air defense systems;
- deliver effective solutions to protect personnel, equipment, vehicles, and logistics at the front line.
