Denys Shmyhal met with the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine to discuss cooperation between defense industries and the implementation of the SAFE program
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence thanked Italy for its steadfast support of Ukrainian defenders and highlighted the decision to provide additional armored vehicles for the troops.
“We discussed steps to strengthen cooperation in the defense industry and to launch major industrial projects. I invited Italian companies to participate in joint initiatives with Ukrainian manufacturers,” said Denys Shmyhal.
In particular, Ukraine and Italy are considering projects to enhance maritime security and safeguard Ukrainian ports.
“We placed special focus on the prospects of applying support instruments, including the SAFE program, to foster the development of the defense industry in Europe. “I express my gratitude to Italy for its support and commitment to deepening cooperation in the interest of our shared security,” concluded the Minister of Defence.
