Denys Shmyhal met with defenders of Kharkiv region
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, during his working visit to the Kharkiv region, met with service members defending the region.
In particular, in Kharkiv region, the Defence Minister met with the leaders and service members of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 3rd Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Khartiia", the 17th (“Poltava”) and 18th (“Sloviansk”) Brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians of the 12th Army Corps of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kish otaman Ivan Sirko of the Operational Command “East” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the 127th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the 11th Army Corps of the Operational Command “East” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the warriors for their courage and resilience, for holding back the enemy and protecting our people, and presented them with awards from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
“I was briefed on the situation at the front, on enemy losses, and on the urgent requirements of the brigades. I familiarized myself with innovative approaches to planning and conducting combat operations, as well as with the technological capabilities of the units,” stated the Minister of Defence.
The command further presented the primary directions for brigade development: strengthening the command and control system, training personnel, and improving the effectiveness of inter-unit coordination.
“We continue to digitalize the military, deploying modern solutions and game-changing technologies to secure an edge over the enemy on the battlefield. Thank you to each warrior standing in defense of the Homeland,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Ministers also visited the defenders of the skies over Kharkiv at the city’s Air Defence Center.
Denys Shmyhal received reports on the situation in this sector. He expressed his gratitude to the personnel of the Air Defence Center for their professionalism and resilience under extremely challenging conditions.
