Denys Shmyhal: Investments in Ukraine’s defense industry make a significant contribution to stability and security in Europe
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, visited a Ukrainian defense enterprise that produces drones.
“We showcased the latest models of Ukrainian weaponry and discussed the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry,” said Denys Shmyhal.
He emphasized that Norway is an important partner of Ukraine and provides assistance in supplying Patriot air defense systems, training and educating Ukrainian service members, and other areas.
Norway also plans to allocate $8.5 billion to support Ukraine in 2026, with most of the funding designated for military equipment for the Defence Forces of Ukraine. Denys Shmyhal thanked the Norwegian Prime Minister for the initiative.
“I called on Norway to continue investing in Ukraine’s rapidly developing defense industry. This represents a significant contribution to stability and security in Europe,” emphasized the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
