Denys Shmyhal discusses UK support for Ukraine with the British Ambassador

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Neil Crompton, the British Ambassador to Ukraine.

The Defence Minister congratulated Mr Neil Crompton on his appointment and expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its steadfast support and leadership in assisting Ukraine.

The parties discussed the implementation of existing agreements and the preparation of new ones, including under the “One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement”.

The Ukrainian MoD team briefed the British side on the security situation, the consequences of recent russian strikes on energy infrastructure, and Ukraine’s key defence needs.

“Strengthening our air defence remains our priority. The United Kingdom’s support in providing new systems and interceptor drones helps protect our cities and saves lives,” emphasised Denys Shmyhal.

The parties also discussed preparations for the next Ramstein-format meeting, scheduled for 3 December.

In addition, opportunities for further cooperation in the defence industry and in reform were examined.
