Denys Shmyhal discussed military support for Ukraine with the Minister of Defence of Norway
Ukraine’s Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal has had a conversation with Norway’s Defence Minister Tore O. Sandvik.
The parties discussed the outcomes of the Ramstein-format meeting.
As Denys Shmyhal noted, in 2025 Norway allocated a total of €1 billion for drone procurement, of which €400 million is designated for direct procurement from Ukrainian manufacturers.
“There are promising opportunities to deepen our cooperation. We appreciate this support,” the Ukrainian Minister of Defence noted.
The topics of the conversation included the development of joint ventures in the defense industry, strengthening air defense, and training Ukrainian military personnel.
“I briefed my counterpart on Ukraine’s priority needs. We also count on Ukraine’s involvement in SAFE initiatives. We are grateful to Norway for its consistent support in strengthening Ukraine’s defense,” said Denys Shmyhal.
