Denys Shmyhal discussed joint projects and drone production with EU Commissioner Andrius Kubilius
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting in Kyiv with the EU Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius.
The parties discussed the stages of implementing the SAFE financial program.
“Nineteen countries have already joined the initiative. We count on effective cooperation, as this mechanism will foster the development of Ukraine’s defence industry,’ stressed Denys Shmyhal.
He noted that one of the priorities requiring additional funding is the production of drones, including FPV drones, interceptor drones, and long-range UAVs. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the European Commission for initiating the Drone Alliance.
Another item discussed on the agenda was budgetary support for Ukraine.
“I am grateful to the EU member states for their financial support and for the sanctions they have imposed against the aggressor,” stated Denys Shmyhal.
